Hanging with the right crowd

In highschool, my bedroom wall was covered with things I had pinned up for fun and inspiration. One of them was a magazine clipping with this quote:

“Be careful how you choose your friends. You become who they are.”

Now in my 30’s, I’ve found that wisdom has held up through the test of time. You really do take on the characteristics of your friends. So it’s important to surround yourself with positive people who inspire you and who you aspire to be more like.

This is especially important for anyone who’s on a spiritual path. People who practice positive thinking and peaceful thinking give off a positive vibration or “good vibes”. Those vibrations will align with your own, creating a very strong and powerful force.

As well, regularly connecting with spiritually-minded people will keep you focused on your spiritual path. Without that constant contact, it’s all too easy to get swept up into the whirlwind of material pleasure and pain.
